Have you been looking into pet dental Los Angeles for your dog or cat? If so, then you have come to the right place. Here at Century Veterinary Group, we offer thorough pet dental exams, cleanings, and other forms of pet dental care here in our office. One of the most common questions we receive from pet parents in regards to pet dental cleanings is "what is anesthesia-free dental care and is it my pet's best option?"
In general, anesthesia-free dental care means your pet's dental cleanings and other related procedures are done without giving your pet any anesthesia. As a result, your pet remains completely awake and alert throughout the entire procedure. Unfortunately, this can make the procedure very difficult for your pet, as well as for our veterinary staff. And, the thorough job that is often necessary becomes impossible to achieve. Even the calmest and even-tempered of pets tend to have a hard time sitting still for dental cleanings. In turn, it may be difficult for our dental team to thoroughly remove all the plaque and tartar build-up on the teeth and below the gumline.
For this reason, we recommend and perform pet dental cleanings under anesthesia here at Century Veterinary Group. By carefully putting your pet under anesthesia, we are able to do as thorough a job as possible when it comes to removing plaque and tartar not only from the visible areas of the teeth, but from below the gum line as well. Not to mention, your pet has a much more relaxed and stress-free time at the appointment than he or she would if not placed under anesthesia.
And of course, we carefully monitor all of your pet's vital signs while under anesthesia to ensure the procedure goes as smoothly and safely as possible.
If your pet is in need of a dental cleaning, our Los Angeles vet team is here to help. Call our office at Century Veterinary Group today at (310) 734-0176 to set up your pet's appointment with us. We would also be happy to answer any additional questions you may have about anesthesia dental procedures or any of the other services we offer here at our clinic.
